Crazy Herb's Hebrew Words
Animal name quiz

These are two lists with approximately 15 words in each list.  One list you'll study using your own methods and the other list you'll study using my methods.  You'll study them for the same length of time and then take a quiz to see which method is more effective.  The entire list ias printed below.

  1. For the first list, learn these vocabulary words for about ten minutes more or less but keep track of the time it takes to go through the list.
  2. Go through the secod list  using the usual way you would have tried to remember these words. Study them for the same length of time as the first list.
  3. Go back and do a quick review of each list for just two minutes on each list.
  4.  If a printer is available print out the two jumbled lists at the bottom which has the words listed out of order.
  5. Now draw lines between the correct match of each word with its translation or if no printer was available just write out the Hebrew and its matching English word together.

Take a look at each animal name once and proceed to the next section

This is the same list as above except that you need to imagine these stories:

These stories may also help in spelling where having an "eyen" in the word means that you imagine an "eye in" the picture.  If no eyen then think aleph.

Now review this next list with whatever method you normally use

Review these words for as long as you like (typically 10 minutes each list).  Feel free to back and forth between the lists.

Take the test for each list by printing each jumbled list and drawing lines between the matching words

Now check how many are correct and compare the score for the two lists.
  • A way to check how certain you were is to calculate the score as follows:
    1. Add the number that were correct and subtract he number of wrong answers.
    2. This process rewards certainty and discourages uncertainty.
    3. Now again compare the scores for the two lists.
  • Send your results to me at hfried@friedandfried.com  and what you thought of the test.  Please include any suggestions on how to improve it.
  • At a later time, a few hours or the next day; review each list for 30 seconds and retake the test.  Once you have mastered most of the words then go ahead and read the paragraph.
  • Make suggestions for  stories to go with each vocabulary word in list two and I'll print the best ones and if yours are chosen I'll list your name.
  • Send in your "stories" and you might find them in the next "Crazy Herb's Hebrew Words" E-Book
